Farley Associates, Inc. Constructs New Branch for North Carolina’s Largest Credit Union

INDIAN LAND, SC (May 25, 2012) - Farley Associates, Inc., an Indian Land, SC based general contractor has completed construction of the newest branch for State Employees’ Credit Union on Providence Road in Charlotte, NC. SECU is the largest credit union in North Carolina with more than 1.7 million members and $25 billion in assets.

The newly constructed branch is over 7,800 square feet in addition to entry and drive through canopies. The original wooded site was cleared and graded by Farley Associates in preparation for the $1.7 million project, which included utilities, landscaping and irrigation, lighting, paving, and roadway improvements and directional signage.

For the building, Farley Associates constructed everything from the foundation to the electrical and exterior skin. In addition to handling the entire scope of the project build, Farley Associates coordinated the installation of banking equipment and the secured concrete bank vault. Completed on time, the branch opened in early 2012.

Designed by O'Brien/Atkins Associates, PA, the architectural firm provided the full range of site planning and architectural and engineering design services, which is part of SECU’s capital building program. Since 1994, O’Brien/Atkins has designed more than 200 projects for SECU including new branches, renovations, expansions and drive-ups.

Farley Associates, Inc. Awarded Prestigious Station Style Award from Fire Chief Magazine

INDIAN LAND, SC (February 28, 2012) - Farley Associates, Inc., an Indian Land, SC based general contractor has been awarded the Bronze Station Style award from Fire Chief Magazine, the leading national fire department publication. The award was given to both Farley Associates, Inc. and Stewart-Cooper-Newell Architects for their design and build of the new Pleasant Valley Fire Station in Indian Land, SC.

A panel of architects and fire service executives reviewed each submission using rigorous criteria, including the architect's answers to program requirements, technical specifications, aesthetic characteristics and the builder's overall execution of the solution.

Pleasant Valley Fire Department is a volunteer organization that provides fire and rescue services to the northern most tip of Lancaster County, South Carolina. Currently, the station runs two engines, one ladder, one rescue, one brush truck, and one tanker. They have 30 volunteers that are trained in both fire fighting as well as rescue services. The new station required an adequate apparatus bay to accommodate the equipment. The station was also built with growth in mind to eventually accommodate more full time fire fighters.

Trey Farley, President of Farley Associates, Inc., said, “We are delighted to have been the General Contractor for this award-winning project. We believe it demonstrates how owners, architects and builders can work together to achieve an outstanding end result.”
